Manila (MNL): flights from Los Angeles and San Francisco

Manila is the primary gateway for many visits to Luzon and a common entry point for trips that continue elsewhere in the Philippines. For a U.S. departure, compare the full itinerary: total travel time, checked baggage, actual connecting airport, and whether every segment appears on the same ticket. For example, an international booking into Manila followed by a separately purchased island flight can involve a new bag check and an unprotected connection.

If your destination is Cebu or another central Philippine island, compare an itinerary ticketed into Cebu with one that arrives in Manila and requires onward travel. The cheaper-looking trans-Pacific leg is not always the cheaper complete journey.

Airlines to compare when relevant to your travel dates: Philippine Airlines, EVA Air, China Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, Asiana Airlines and United Airlines. The list is for itinerary research; it does not imply every airline has a flight available on every route or any special VoyaFare airline contract.

Cebu (CEB): decide where to enter the Philippines

Cebu can be more convenient than Manila when the final destination is in the Visayas or nearby islands. Compare the total cost through to the island you will visit, including domestic baggage, transfer time and possible overnight accommodation. Review our Manila-versus-Cebu guide and the Manila domestic-connection checklist.

Bangkok (BKK / DMK): check the airport before you buy

Bangkok has more than one major airport. A transfer between BKK and DMK is not the same as a connection within one terminal. If your trip continues to Phuket or Chiang Mai, compare arriving at the final destination on one ticket with a separately purchased domestic segment. Explore the Bangkok-versus-Phuket planning guide.

Ho Chi Minh City (SGN): southern Vietnam gateway

When visiting southern Vietnam, check whether you can reach the intended city on one ticket. For a trip combining Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, compare an open-jaw or multi-city search against a round trip that requires backtracking.

Tokyo (HND / NRT): airfare plus airport transfers

Tokyo's Haneda and Narita airports are distinct. A lower fare arriving at a different airport can cost more time and ground transport. When comparing connecting itineraries to other Asian cities, confirm that each leg actually departs from the same airport listed on the itinerary.

Hong Kong (HKG): compare connection terms

For a Hong Kong visit or an onward Asian connection, compare layover duration, whether checked bags travel to the final airport, and the applicable transit or entry requirements for the traveler.

Bali / Denpasar (DPS): plan your island arrival

For Bali, compare itineraries arriving at Denpasar with itineraries that add a separate connection from another Indonesian city. Check whether extra baggage and long connection waits erase the advertised savings.

Seoul (ICN / GMP): know the transfer

For travel to Seoul or via Korea, review the airports on every segment, the connection schedule and whether immigration or baggage reclaim is required. Allow for additional time when itineraries involve separate reservations.

Taipei (TPE / TSA): compare city and transit airports

When comparing flights via Taipei, check the airport codes on both segments, ticket rules, and whether baggage is checked through. A low fare is only a useful comparison when the entire journey is practical.

Singapore (SIN): ticketing and regional connections

Singapore can be either your final destination or one stop in a multi-city trip. Compare a ticket covering the complete itinerary with a separately purchased connection and review the specific baggage and transfer conditions.

Shanghai (PVG / SHA): check the exact airport

Shanghai Pudong and Hongqiao are different airports. Include ground transport and connection feasibility in your comparison, particularly if onward travel is booked independently.

Kuala Lumpur (KUL): examine the total journey

Compare the actual arrival airport, terminal, layover and luggage allowances. If your final destination is elsewhere in Malaysia or Southeast Asia, include the additional flight and its rules rather than comparing only long-haul ticket prices.

How we compare flight offers

1. Same trip, same traveler

Compare the same dates, origin, destination, passenger types, cabin, stops and baggage before calling one fare cheaper. A one-way price cannot be compared fairly with a round trip.

2. Complete fare, not just a teaser

Ask for the total including mandatory taxes and carrier charges. Checked bags, seats, change conditions and other optional costs may differ by fare.

3. Clear connection protection

Check whether the route is issued on one ticket. Separately booked flights can carry extra risk if the earlier flight is delayed.

4. Quote confirmed before purchase

Published destination guides do not confirm current inventory. The VoyaFare fare desk must recheck the actual itinerary and terms with an authorized supplier.

About advertised prices: We do not display unverified “from” fares or claim a fixed discount against another agency. A lower-fare goal is useful for research, but a public offer needs a confirmed itinerary, total price, applicable conditions and current availability. VoyaFare does not process online ticket payments on this guide.
