International Shipping is a separate planning service from VoyaFare flights and hotels. There are no confirmed freight reservations, live freight prices, or payment facilities in this website preview. Carrier acceptance and customs rules must be verified.
What can international shipping include?
The phrase international shipping covers much more than cars. Depending on destination rules and actual carrier acceptance, it may include household moves, personal belongings, boxed goods, commercial merchandise, motorcycles and other vehicles, machinery, and containerized freight.
Each category uses a different combination of packaging, documentation and insurance. A box of household items is not quoted in the same way as a commercial container or an oversized vehicle. Identify what you want to transport before discussing price.
Choose the right shipping method
Sea freight often offers full-container loads (FCL), where a shipment occupies a container, and less-than-container loads (LCL), where compatible cargo shares consolidated container space. Some ports and carriers also offer roll-on/roll-off service for qualifying wheeled vehicles.
Air freight can be appropriate for certain smaller time-sensitive shipments, but the aircraft operator must approve the contents, packaging and chargeable weight. Ground transport may be needed between a home, warehouse, seaport or airport. No route or shipping method is guaranteed here.
Where does a quote begin and end?
A shipping estimate should specify whether it covers pickup, export documentation, crating, packing, warehouse receiving, terminal handling, ocean or air carriage, import clearance, destination storage and delivery. Ask what each charge includes and where responsibility passes from one company to another.
Destination fees, taxes, duties, inspections, demurrage, storage and final-mile transport can be billed by different parties. A port-to-port estimate is not the same as a door-to-door estimate. Always compare quotes with the same included services and currencies.
Customs paperwork and import rules
The country where goods leave and the country where they arrive may both require declarations, identity or ownership evidence and product-specific permits. Commercial goods may need invoices and customs tariff classifications; household effects can face different rules depending on residence and visa status.
Vehicles can face export-title, age, emissions and registration conditions. Electronics, batteries, medicines, food, plant materials and hazardous substances may be controlled or prohibited. Consult official customs offices and authorized forwarding agents before shipping, rather than relying on a generic checklist alone.
Understand size, weight and packaging
Shipping providers commonly need weight and dimensions to estimate space and handling. Ocean consolidators may calculate charges using volume or weight; air freight often uses dimensional weight. Cargo that cannot be stacked, that is fragile or that requires temperature control changes the service requirements.
Tell the provider whether goods are packed, whether professional export packing is needed, and whether a loading dock or forklift is available. For a vehicle or machine, provide working condition, fuel or battery information when the carrier asks. Poor packing can also affect claims and insurance.
Plan the timing realistically
Transit times depend on origin and destination, carrier schedules, intermediate handling, customs examinations, port congestion and weather. The advertised transit period may count only the main voyage and not pickup, consolidation, clearance or delivery.
For business inventory or a household move, allow a time cushion and ask for tracking milestones. A fixed delivery date cannot be promised merely because a sailing or flight is advertised. Where timing matters, obtain the provider's own schedule, terms and written commitments.
Insurance and the person responsible
Ask what insurance is offered, what it covers, what exclusions apply, and how a claim is filed. Carrier liability can be limited by contract or convention. Declared cargo value and proper packaging may influence coverage eligibility.
Keep an inventory, condition photographs, bills of lading or airway bills, packing lists and payment receipts. If a freight forwarder, shipping line and local agent are different companies, clarify who handles problems in transit and on arrival.
A useful first conversation with a shipping team
Provide the pickup city, destination city or port, kind of shipment, approximate quantity, dimensions and weight, desired shipping window, and whether customs clearance and door delivery are required. This is enough to ask sensible questions without sending passwords, passport scans or financial records.
VoyaFare's website currently provides information and local planning worksheets. It does not issue live freight bookings or guarantee shipping prices. Call to confirm whether an appropriate service representative or authorized partner can actually assist with a proposed shipment.
International shipping FAQs
Does VoyaFare ship cars only?
No. International shipping planning may cover belongings, vehicles, container freight, machinery, and commercial cargo. The actual carrier must approve the goods, service and route.
Is an online estimate the final cost?
No. Final charges depend on the service scope, destination fees, customs duties, taxes, cargo dimensions, insurance and carrier confirmation.
Can every item go in ocean freight?
No. Dangerous goods, batteries, food, medicines and controlled or restricted items can require permits or specialist handling; some are prohibited. Always check the carrier and customs authorities.
Can I ship a whole container or only a few boxes?
Both full-container and groupage or shared-container options may be possible on some routes, subject to carrier access, acceptance, packing requirements and contract terms.
Does VoyaFare take payment or reserve cargo space online?
No. This preview does not accept freight payment or confirm a shipping reservation. The planning worksheet stays on your device.
